Women

First Reformed Church is always looking for new ways to show the love of Christ.  We have several traditional fellowship groups for women, including the Beth Moore bible study series, and other areas of ministry.

WOMEN’S MINISTRIES

The goals or purposes of our Women’s Ministries are:

  • To unite all the women of FRC in Christian fellowship in order to make Christ known throughout the world through missionary support, financially and through prayers;
  • To strengthen the spiritual life of women through the use of Bible studies;
  • To develop a sense of personal responsibility for the mission of the Church through prayer, education, giving and service.

Bible studies are comprised of any women wishing to participate at various times throughout the month.  Those in existence are:

  • Mary-Martha – meeting one Tuesday afternoon a month, usually the second;
  • Miriam – meeting two Thursday noon hours a month, usually the second and fourth;
  • Priscilla – meeting one Tuesday morning a month, usually the third;
  • Ruth – meeting one Monday evening a month, usually the third.
  • Naomi - meeting one Monday evening a month, usually the third.

Also available throughout the year will be special gatherings and meeting for the women of the church (an Easter event, an early fall meeting with the other Reformed Churches in Orange City, and a holiday meeting).

The Women’s Ministries support designated missionaries through free-will offerings at meetings and Bible studies, service projects such as serving weddings, anniversaries and funerals, and the Tulip Festival Food Stand.

The Women’s Ministries has a board that oversees the organization of women’s functions and meetings and also the financial disbursements.  These women will contact other women from the congregation to help serve on a committee or a program sometime throughout the year.

Blocks & Knots quilters meet the second and fourth Wednesday afternoons each month to make quilts.

Food for the Soul is a ministry for those who enjoy sharing their culinary talents.  This group provides a meal for another First Reformed Church family who is welcoming a new baby, experiencing illness, or mourning a death.

MOPs:  The 'Mothers of Preschoolers' meets the second and fourth Tuesday mornings at Dover Avenue Alliance Church.

'MOC/FV Moms' meet Mondays at Dover Alliance
