Celebrate new life
One of the most joyous occasions in the life of a church is to celebrate the birth and baptism of a child. As members of First Reformed Church, we stand beside the parents and make a vow to pray for the child, to help them grow spiritually, and try to be mentors and take an active part in their life. Many times; however, our involvement as members is limited to prayer and classroom teaching. We must constantly challenge ourselves to look for opportunities to become more actively involved in the lives of those around us, both young and old. One such opportunity is to join in the fun of attending an all-church baby shower. It is a perfect time to meet the new babies with their parents and welcome them into our church family. Gift giving is a way to share our love, but the main purpose of the church shower is to share in the fellowship and lives of these young families.
