Do you have a musial or other gift to share through worship? Here are some ways to praise God and enhance our services...
If you are 9th grade and older and want to make a joyful noise to the Lord, please consider becoming part of the Sanctuary Choir. This is the adult choir of FRC. The Choir rehearses on a regular basis during the school year and enhances most morning and some evening worship hours. About one half of the anthems presented each year are newly purchased ones. The rehearsals happen on Wednesday nights beginning at 8:00 p.m. Because of the significance of Christmas and Easter, extra music is planned and presented at these times, often times with orchestral and professionally- recorded accompaniments. For more information call the church office.
FRC presently has 4 worship teams. One of these teams is comprised of only young people – the Youth Worship Team. The other teams are more mixed in ages. Each worship team rehearses and leads in worship on Sunday each month (September – May). There is no audition required for participation on the worship teams. Consistency in attendance at rehearsals and worship times is essential. Since the worship style at FRC is blended, the worship teams sing a wider range of music. New efforts are now made to expand the library of songs with additional instrumentation. For more information contact the church office.
Prior to the Christmas and Easter seasons inter-generational instrumentalists (Middle School and older) who play string, brass and woodwind instruments come together for rehearsals to prepare special music for upcoming worship times. The orchestras accompany the hymns, combine forces with worship teams and musically assist the Sanctuary Choir in various ways. Rehearsals take place on the 3-4 Sundays prior to the presentation dates. For more information contact the church office.
Occasionally the media of drama is used to advertise some special event or enhance portions of the worship experience. For more information contact the church office.
FRC has a handbell choir which is used on a regular basis to bring praise to the Lord in worship settings. The Genevan Ringers rehearse 2 times a month and play once a month, usually at the morning worship time and sometimes on the evening. Commitment to rehearsals (Thursdays) and presentations is necessarily high because each person has certain bells assigned to him/her. Bell ringers (9th grade and older) do not audition but must be able to read music. For more information please contact the church office.
